Surfin’ Safari brings the best of the ’50s and ’60s back to life with high-energy performances and harmonies that create an unforgettable "wall of sound". Their shows celebrate the era of jukebox hits, sock hops, and surf rock—with a setlist full of timeless classics that still get crowds dancing all night long. The band features longtime collaborators Rick Burkhardt and Dave Vanderlinde on lead guitar and bass, Wade Stephens (guitar), and Katie Wrede (keyboards). Touring across the four-state Midwest region, Surfin’ Safari has become a local favorite for festivals, community events, and classic rock venues. In recognition of their long-standing contribution to the region’s music scene, the band will be inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October 2025. As one of the last working bands dedicated to this golden era of music, they’re not just playing the hits—they’re keeping the spirit of early rock & roll alive with heart, harmony, and a whole lot of fun.
